Is PEEK the best choice for my child?
When considering early entrance, families may want to reflect on the following:
- Your child may be the youngest in the class, sometimes by up to a full year.
- Early entrance is a long-term educational decision; your child will always be younger than their peers.
- Some children may experience stress or anxiety if expectations exceed their developmental capabilities.
- Research shows that social-emotional development is a strong predictor of early school success.
- Important readiness skills include:
- Making and keeping friends
- Identifying and expressing emotions appropriately
- Calming down when upset without harming others
