Puyallup Early Entrance to Kindergarten (PEEK)

Important: Families who attend one of the required PEEK information sessions will be provided access to the PEEK online interest form and considered for the PEEK program.

Families will receive a link to the online interest form, which they will be able to complete at a later date. The online interest form must be submitted by April 5th to move forward to the next step of PEEK consideration for the '26-27 school year.

PEEK '26-27 Online Interest Form must be submitted by April 5, 2026. The form will close after that date, and no additional interest will be accepted for the '26-27 school year. 

1. After families submit the PEEK online interest form, PEEK staff will share with them a parent and preschool/daycare provider questionnaire.
    
2. Families will complete the questionnaires and can either return or mail them to an address provided with the questionnaires. 
    
3. Once PEEK Staff receives the completed questionnaire, families will be contacted to schedule their child for an in-person child assessment.

After families complete required questionnaires, students will be invited to participate in a 45-minute, in-person assessment at the Education Service Center (ESC) to determine if they are accepted into the PEEK program.

What Families Should Expect at the PEEK In-Person Child Assessment

To be accepted into the PEEK Program, students must demonstrate skills significantly above their chronological age across multiple developmental areas, including:

• Language and communication

• Early academic concepts

• Social and emotional development

• Self-help skills

• Counting and basic number sense

• Letter names and sounds

• Shape and basic pattern recognition

Students may complete the PEEK assessment one time per year, and there is no appeal process.
